Meet Madelin!

It has been quite awhile it seems that I have made a bag. And since the new year of classes at the Corn Wagon will be kicking off in January I thought I better get started. On Friday I did just that while I was as work. It was nice to sit down and sew on this pretty new thing. We have had these machines in the shop about three months and this one hadn't even been used yet. You could smell the newness as I open the bag. I love sewing on a new machine! Not a problem in the world. This is the new B Series that Bernina just put out. Very sleek don't you think? The bag I have chosen for the Bag Ladies Club is called Madelin and she hereself comes from the very talented Kati Cupcake. This bag is awesome if you are looking for a new project bag, travel bag, or maybe even a diaper bag this is the one. Kati's directions are very easy to follow and well done. And did I mention she's a brand new pattern. She just hit the stands last month along with her darling new book. Baby, It's You!
Don't you just love the ruffle going down the front pocket, which by the way is seperated there so you have two. There are the same shaped pockets in the inside as well.

The fabric I used is called Habitat. Kind of gray, mustard and blacks.
The inside is nice and roomy. By the way have I told you what I use in the bottom of my bags to keep them nice and strong. From the shop I get one of our very large and thick cutting mats(that we are not using any longer) and cut it to the shape of the bag. You need to round the corners just a bit so the sharp edge won't stick through your fabric. I learned this the hard way! So don't throw your old cutting mats out, keep them around for your next bag bottom.
Want to start something fun for the new year. Come join The Bag Ladies, we have lots of fun together each time. I have made so many new friends this year and I would like to do that with you. Don't miss the chance to make Madelin, sign up today. All the details will be posted on the Corn Wagon's website along with the other bags and quilt classes, or you can contact me and I will be glad to help you out. Hope to see you in class.
