I know its been quite sometime since I have posted any projects. Here are a couple of quilts I have finished in the last month. Both on display at the shop. The first one is called Martha's Quilt, a pattern from Kimberbell Designs. I used Moda's fabric line Little Black Dress from Basic Gray.
It's Layer Cake friendly and super easy to put together. It would be so cute out of anything. Hey, want to make one in a class? I will be teaching this the end of February at the Corn Wagon. Check out our class info on the website. And then I will be teaching it again in March at the annual Pie Plate Patterns Spring Retreat. The second quilt is called Picture This from Atkinsen Designs. Most of the fabric used is from David Butler's, Parson Gray. I used some homespuns and cordaroy to give it some texture.
These little cuties are pin cushions. Made for some very special ladies I work with. These were their Christmas presents from me. How fun and easy to make.
And last I have been doing some crocheting around baby blankets. We are awaiting the arrival of a new grandson in April. The blanket pictured below I used chenille yarn and went around the whole blanket with a single crochet.
This was baby Kord's Christmas present, I used the same chenille yarn. By the time April gets here he should have plenty of gifts from this excited Grandma. And oh yeah, theres still all those baby quilts to make. What a great way to start off a new year. What's first on your new years re-SEW-lutions sewing list?
Baby Kord is a lucky baby to have such a talented Oma to make him such cute quilts. Love the gray one you are going to teach too. Hope you will have a full class with sewers!
ReplyDeleteShannon I do like the Grey one too. I have something in mind to make. The coming days I make a choice for which pattern I will choose so I can spend my pocketmoney in the USA.

ReplyDeleteI found your blog from Emily Herrick's blog. You have some fun stuff going on! Just a quick question, are those pin cushions in picture frames? I would love to teach these to my daughter's beehive class. Do you have instructions?
ReplyDeleteGo DONS! :)
Love the chenille crochet around the blankets...Can you tell me what size needle you used and how hard was it to go through the fabric. Would love to make some of these. Thanks
