Catch Up!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks, just lazy I guess. Anyway I think I've caught you up on some things that have been happening around here. Not much though. Stuart and I are headed for Girl's camp this week, we are the camp hosts at KoHoLoWo up Santaquin Canyon. This will be our 4th year of doing it. There are host quarters to stay in but I'd rather stay in our trailer. We will be eating most of our meals with the girls, so not much to do there. The job isn't hard, change the t.p. in the holder when their empty, turn the generator off and on, you know maintaining stuff. My sewing bag is packed plum full of stuff to work on. I can even take my machine to sew on. Oh the luxuries of home. I will have alot of time to do whatever I want. I guess you could call this a mini vacation. I will blog about our adventures when we return. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. By the way, where did June go? P.S. Do you want a good laugh or two? July's Bag!

Take a look at this cute bag, this is the bag we will be doing in our Bag Ladies Club for July at the Corn Wagon. The class in on July 30th. The bag is on display at the shop. Come in and check it out, I know your going to want one for yourself.

This is a Melly and Me bag. It's called "Candy", these girls have some really great patterns. We have alot of their patterns in the shop already. It's hard to decide which one to sew up next.

This is a smaller bag, so I lined my with iron on vinyl so I can use it for a make up bag. Suzanne made it a tad larger to use for a travel bag. Oh by the way, we have the vinyl in the shop now. Both of these bags were made with Joel Dewberry's new line Deer Valley, do you think he spent sometime in Utah getting his inspiration for this fabric line?

Bag Ladies!

Junes Bag Ladies Club was another successful one. We had enough sign up that we ended up doing two classes again. This happened in May to. Myself and Suzanne didn't know what to expect when Marsha approached us about this back in February. But I think this little adventure is going to do well. It will probably be on the fall class schedule by the looks of things.

A little time for sewing!

I've been doing a little sewing lately, or is that all I do lately. I had a couple of quilts that needed to be bound so those got done and I made this cute bag out of some of my scraps that are piling up in the corner again. It's another Melly and Me bag.

Check out the zippered pocket and the cell phone pocket sewn on the front of it. Tricky huh!

And of course another pocket.

We have neices having babies on both side of the family so I'm quite sure these will be going to them as gifts. How do I decide which goes where?

It's Over!

This post is kind of a picture over load but it will be worth your time to look at all the fun photo's of the shop hop that took place the 17th through the 20th of June. We had so much fun getting the shop all dressed up to look like a toy shop. I contributed quite a few things I had around the house that I had kept of the kids as well as mine and Stuarts. Enjoy shop hopping. The first few pictures are of some of the employees working late the night before the big event.

Hey, does this guy look familiar to anyone? What a good sport Sturat was to come help us hang our kites. Look how high we had him up on that ladder. What in the heck were we thinking. I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but he didn't complain. At least not while he was in the shop that is!

The bag lady hanging bags!

The following pictures are some of the display of toys we had through out the shop. I'm sure seeing some of them will take you on a trip down memory lane.

These dolls were some of the ones Marsha played with when she was a little girl. And the one with the bonnet belonged to her mother in law.

Say cheese Mary Ann and Megan!

Everything in the corner hutch came from my house. We had so many comments on all the old Fisher Price toys. I had one lady ask me if I wanted to sell the baby Tiny Tears on the top shelf. The quilt hanging up was our shop hop quilt. Each store had to make a quilt using each of the other stores blocks. Of course ours was the cutest quilt out there! You need to see this up close, the picture doesn't do it any good. Stop in and see it sometime. Mary Ann will be doing a class in the fall if you are interested.

The next pictures are of some of the quilts we had hung up for the shop hop. We featured Emily Herrick of Crazy Old Ladies, so we had several of her quilts up as well.

This is the fun hopscotch quilt that I made for the shop.

This is the quilt Marsha taught on their cruise back in February, she entered it in the Springville Days Quilt Show and won a ribbon. I don't think she liked the idea of us leaving the ribbon on it.

This quilt is called If the Shoe Fits! Isn't is so cute.

This is Emily's newest, she was binding it the night before so we could display it. It's called Holiday Line Up. This is on my holiday list for sure!

Emily's Postage Stamp in the background and one of Amy Butler's patterns in the front. And Fig Tree Sweet Sugar Swirl is hung on the shelf.

And the day is here, look who we have to greet us, Clarabelle(aka Mary Ann) and Clarence (aka Marsha). What good sports Marsha and Mary Ann were. Marsha is the store owner and Mary Ann is the manager. They dressed up all four days and were so into their characters it was hard for us to get back to normal the following week. We had lots of fun things going on during the shop hop. We had games, hula hoop competitions, hopscotch outside, and cracker jacks for refreshments. I think everybody had a real good time when they came into shop at the Corn Wagon. I know they left happy anyway.

We already have our theme for next year and ideas are popping in our heads already. It's going to be another fun is all I can say. You will have to wait a whole other year to find out what it is. I know the suspense is killing you already, huh. Stayed tuned, I might be needing you for ideas!

Sewing, Sewing, Sewing!

I feel like one of Santa's elves. I've been sewing some really fun things for the Shop Hop that is this weekend. 14 shops across the Wasatch front are participating. We are the shop farthest south and the last shop north is in Logan. It runs the rest of this week and into the weekend. The theme this year is All Around the Neighborhood and we are the toy shop. We have lots of fun things at the store for sale.

Look at this fun quilt. It's a hopscotch quilt if you can't tell. It was very simple to make and the grandkids are patiently waiting to play with it after the shop hop. I have these all ready in kits and ready to make. Pick one up at the store on your way through town. You even make the bean bags to toss at the numbers.

This is Hilda the Hippo, I posted pictures of her a few weeks ago just as I was beginning to make her. Isn't she the cutest thing ever?

And this my friends is Blossom the Butterfly. We have patterns and kits for these as well. I'm sure the girl's will end up with these, meaning Karas and McKinley.

She's 21!

We had a special birthday celebration for Angie while she was here visiting over the weekend. She turned 21 on Monday so we helped her celebrate on Sunday evening. We all got together and had supper and cake and ice cream. We hope Angie had a fun weekend, we didn't do much because the weather was so crappy. We plan to see her in July over the Fiesta Days celebration, maybe we can get some really fun things in then. Hope your birthday was happy Angie.
