Way to go Angie!

She did it. Looks like our soon to be daughter in law is on her way to becoming a Radiologist. Angie graduated from Idaho State on the 7th of May. She has worked long and hard on achieving this goal. We are so proud of her and so is Jacob, can you tell? But theres always time for some silliness. Just letting all the excitement out! Yah-hoo!

After the commencement excercises we met at Ruby Tuesday there in Pocatello to honor the graduate. It was fun meeting some of Angies family and friends. She has so many pround supporters, even this silly one. Her father in law.

I am happy to report that after keeping her nose in the books all last week studying, she is now a registered Radiologist. She passed with flying colors. Now let the job hunting begin, or should she focus on the big day first. July 9th will be here before you know it.

Happy Mother's Day!

Stuart came home with a bouquet of fowers on the Friday before Mother's Day, something he has been doing since all of the kids have flown the nest. I'm not his mother so he calls this day for him and I something else. (but that's a personal secret!)

What to do with these beautiful flowers when your headed out the door to Idaho for the weekend.Pack them in a cooler and go. And they traveled well. Then after we were settled in the Ground Force 1 watching T.V. Stuart suprised me with yet another Mother's Day gift.

Two new pair of summer jammies. Lightweight, soft and cool for those hot summer months. I love new jammies, they have always been one of my favorite things.

My husband is the best, he really knows how to treat this mom!

Sorry I didn't get around to wishing eveyone a Happy Mother's Day. Hope it was just what you were wishing for.

New from Kati Cupcake

I was able to visit with Amy Hamberlin from Kati Cupcake at quilt market. I got to see her new fabric line called Sugar Blossom. It so very cute and you should see all her cute new sewing patterns she has to go with. Visit her blog to get a sneak peek of it all and while you are there make sure you get in on the give away. "Sprucing Up A Bit"

Last week the Corn Wagon was one of the lucky quilt shops to participate on the bus tour during International Quilt Market. So you can imagine how busy we were getting the shop into tip top shape. We did a little rearranging and putting up new displays. Remember this work in progress? Here she is in all her glory, hung up ready for viewers. I think she turned out quite cute. Just adding the greenery around her makes everything come together

A blurry close up. In this quilt I used the line Elizabeth's Letters from Jill Finley for Henry Glass Fabrics. The pattern is called Button Up Buttercup from the Turning Twenty Slappique Book. Jill has a new fabric line coming out called Sorbet Garden. You should have seen her booth at market, so cute. And they were even serving up small ice cream cones to promote it.

And the Just Wing Quilt I was working on turned out oh so cute too.

This is what I did with in the front of the shop. Isn't it just shouting summer? Now if would ever get here. This is the Just Wing It line from Moda. The designers MoMo. The aprons are from the newest book from the Apron Lady. Thanks to Lynette O. for whipping those up for the display.

We still have pre-cuts and bolts of this fabric in stock. And I think there are a couple of kits available for the quilt.

The bus tour wiped us out of a few things but there is still plenty of eye candy to see at the Corn Wagon. Make sure you stop in on your way through and say hi. We love our out of towners. It was so fun meeting so many of them last week during market. It's to bad it only happens every 4 years. But don't wait that long to make it back.

Market Day 2 & 3

With market being in Salt Lake City this year I didn't have far to travel. What a great opportunity for all our Utah locals to show off their talents. And believe me we have plenty of it. Take Crazy Old Ladies for instant, her booth was awarded 1st place for the single booth award. Notice the blue ribbon hanging under her Going Coastal sign. She was not expecting it at all. It has been fun helping Emily the last couple of years putting her booths together. Way to go Emily, do you think it was the chairs? This is the plaque that was in Emily's booth the rest of the show.
Emily and her ribbon. It sounds like the Blogger's Quilt Meet-Up was a big hit. I had good intentions on attending but by the time we got out of the booth it only would have given us a little time to enjoy the evening. It started at 5:00 and the show didn't close until 6:00 so by the time we got done straightening and chit chatting it was close to 6:30 and the party ended at 7:00. Kind of sad, but we had a good evening making new friends at the Red Iguana 2.Terry(Thankfully Sew) and her daughter Michelle.

Sunday morning we had a visit from Pam Kitty Morning. She has a new line of fabric coming out through Lakehouse. And guess what it's full of kitties. Real cute stuff.

I failed to get many pictures this show but I did get this one of the new fabric line Children at Play for Michael Miller. This sweet collection comes from the very talented Sarah Jane Studios. She is right here in the great state of Utah. She lives and works in Orem.

I was able to get my daughter, Kira a pass for the day. She came and mingled the show with me for a little bit. One of her favorite designers is the very talented Amy Butler. Notice the bag Kira is carrying, it is one of Amy's patterns and also her fabric. Amy autographed the inside of her bag with her signature logo XO. Kira was over the moon meeting her and being able to spend a minute or two with her. Not very often do you find her in her booth by herself. Amy, Kira and myself.

Emily's husband Gilbert and dad, Walt came up to help take down. Boy it doesn't take as long taking down as it does going up. Doesn't quite look the same does it? The day is over or should I say 3 long days of hard work, but well worth the fun and meeting and renewing old friendships. What a great weekend.

And when I went to the parking garage I found this surprise. I wonder who the little
"MONKEY'S" were that left us the banana's. One for each of us.

Finally a Post!

And not that I haven't wanted to. What the heck has been up with blogger these last couple of days. Ghees, just when I get in the mood too! Wow have the last couple of weeks been crazy ones around here. We've celebrated two birthdays, a college graduation, sewing and sproofing up the shop for market (since it's here in Utah, yeah)! I will get to all the post later but since market is so fresh on my mind I will start there. Yesterday I went with four of the ladies from the Corn Wagon. Lynette, Char(a former employee), Suzanne, and Mary. So many fun boothes to look at already, the first one, Dana from Lazy Daisy Cotttage from St. George. The one thing about having market in your home state you really get to see alot of the Utah designers and boy do we have an abundance of them. Dana has a new line coming out for Henry Glass called Ohh La La. Just adoooooorable! I think it must of been kind of a bag day. Maybe today will be a quilts day. Isn't this a cute one from Quilts Illustrated. It's made from Quilt Soups new line. Everythings coming up roses, on bags!

One of my favorite designers, Amy from Katie Cupcake. Remember "My Favorite Bag" that was so popular and still is. You can see it hanging up behind her on the bottom and on the top is her new version of it "My Little Favorite Bag". Amy has asked me to bag test again for her. I will be doing this one and another one called Simply Delicious. I can't wait to get started on them next week. I will be able to share them with you when they are completed. It wouldn't be Katie Cupcake without the cupcakes. Very delightful little things.

Another favorite I hit today was Bonnie and Camille. Bonnie is the Cotton Way gal and Camille is the Thimbleblossoms gal. They are a mother daughter team. Their new line for Moda is called "Ruby" and yes I have already scored me some. Yahoo! For those that don't know my nickname or is it a nickname I don't know, but any who its Ruby. Stuart has called me that since the day we were married. But not only has it a great name, it's darling as can be. Just look at all the possibilities to do with dear, sweet, Ruby! Will I want to cut or stash it?

This bag is a must, look at that flower would ya? This particular bag is from Piece of Cakes new line from Robert Kaufman. The bag is from a designer named Renae Martin and it is called Purse Strings. Can't wait to get it.

My oh my, look who's doing some ordering at the Moda boothe. It's Marsha and Mary Ann. Now we can say the "Gangs" all here, well sort of. We had to leave a couple at the shop to keep things going!

Now for the exciting part of the post. My great friend Emily from Crazy Old Ladies has once again asked me to help in her boothe. So that's where I will be today and tomorrow but that's not the only thing exciting, the real thing is that Emily has her very own fabric line out now. She has just signed up with Michael Miller and she is over the moon about it. She deserves to be. Em has worked so hard getting her drawings out there and she did it. Way to go Em! I'm so proud of you and all of your hard work. Now let me introduce you to Going Coastal from Emily Herrick from Crazy Old Ladies for Michael Miller.

The fabric just arrived last week, she has been sewing like a whirl wind trying to get everything done and ready in time for the show and that girl did it! Your local shops should have this fabric line in by early July. Put this on the list for sure.Emily's boothe looks just like you were on the Pier of a beach. She didn't forget any detail did she.

Let the fun begin, these are the patterns to get started on Amy's bags. They were waiting for me when I got home from Quilt Market tonight. One down two more to go.

Oh by the way, any of you going to the Bloggers Quilt Meet-Up at the Blue Lemon @ 5:00 p.m. It sounds like they have a really fun evening planned. I understand they have lots of swag and prizes to give away. I'm in are you? Hope to see you there.

Have you picked your classes for Quiltwalk?

They have so many classes this year and they cater to all sorts of quilters. From the beginner to the most novice. The teacher line up is awesome. When you get a minute check out the classes, and maybe you will see two of mine in the line up. Don't put it off too long, regestration ends Friday May 6. So don't be so pokey getting there. I want to see some of my sewing friends from this area down there. You all know where it is right? It's in the quaint town of Panguitch.
