My Date with Hatch!

I hope that I have started a fun tradition with my grandkids. Last year I took Hatch out for lunch and a little school shopping. So this year rolled around and we did it again. I remember school shopping one year with my Grandma Thomas and it has always stood out as one of my favorite school time memories. She took my sister, Jan and myself over to Provo (before the mall was even in town) and we went to Lerner's on Center Street and she let us pick out an outfit. I can still remember what I chose. It was a blue and red plaid knit button up dress and what made it even more unique is that is had a pair of navy blue shorts to go underneath. Back then the dresses were a tad short so I'm sure that was a way to show modesty. Anyway I loved it. Then she treated us to lunch at the JB's Big Boy on University. I'm so glad I have those memories to look back on. So I started this with my own, they have to be starting Kindergarten to be able to go, so next year we will had Karas to the fun. First we started out with lunch at 5 Guys Burger and Fries. Hatch loves a good old fashion hamburger. This burger was almost as big as him. Here he is taking the first bite. Never in a million years did I think he would eat the whole thing, but he did!
He begged me to take his picture of him taking the last bite. Isn't he the cutest cowboy around. There's just something about a cowboy isn't there? After we got done with lunch we headed over to Kohl's. He found a couple of nice shirts and a pair of shoes. I think he's by far the easiest kid to school shop for. We were in and out in no time at all.

We ended up at Baskin Robbins for ice cream. He wanted me to step out of my box and try something new rather than Rocky Road and I did. I had cotton candy and he had some wild and crazy berry flavor. We had a wonderful time. He came back to the house and played until his Dad stopped in to pick him up. Thanks for making my day fun Hatch, I love you and look forward to our date next year.

I love that tradition. I remember going with grandma finch. We went to talley ho...remember that store on main street. I think Hatch is a pretty cute cowboy. He is very handsome and looks like he is alot of fun to be around.
