Another swap! I couldn't post about it until my partner had recieved her stuff, I can do that now, she got her package yesterday via mail. I got the confirmation saying she received it. This swap was oh so fun, it was a Sewing Organizing Swap. The requirements were to send either a tote bag or something else to help orgainize our sewing room, we had to send two of our favorite notions, and a new pattern of some kind. My partner was Sarah Castillo from Orange, CA. She had requested a tote bag with pockets to carry her scissors and pins. She is a full time college student and carries her works in progress to work on during class breaks. This is what I came up with. The bag pattern I used did not have pockets on the outside so I added one to each side, which can hold sciccors. I added the ric-rac to spruce it up a bit. I always love to alter the patterns to fit my taste! The notions that I added were a seam guage, I know that seems old school but I love mine and have since Jr. High sewing class, it sits right by my sewing machine. I then made a cute pin cushion to match the bag. The pattern I added was a Hip to Be Square Quilt Pattern by Busy Bee's. The other loot was added fun to fill all the pockets inside, a pocket calendar book to schedule all her upcoming sewing classes in, a notepad and pen to take notes, a pink water bottle, and of course every sewer needs a little chocolate now and then to keep her energy level up!
This is the inside of the bag, fun huh! There are pockets all the way around the bag. On the outside I sewed a key fob and hanging from it I made a little coin purse, that could be used for that or credit cards that she's going to need to buy the fabric for the quilt pattern I sent! I hope Sarah will like what I created for her. I'll post about my package when it comes, it should be coming any day, we have until the 10th of October to mail them. I'm already working on a apron for the Hot Drinks for Hot Mama's Apron Swap. I'll fill you in on more details later.
I think this bag would be a great diaper bag, don't you?

Your swaps sound really fun. Maybe I should look into them. Where do you find them?
